Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A Minor

I was listening to Public Radio today, when the radio announcer was interviewing a couple who shared a love story about how they met in college and the gentleman bought his girlfriend a copy of  Robert Schumann’s Concerto in A Minor, it being her favorite. The lady of the couple was comparing the concerto to a musical conversation the piano was having with the orchestra. I loved the way that sounded, because that is how I think of Social Media, as a conversation. A conversation at a party, or a public gathering where everyone takes a turn and people go in and out of the conversation just like the piano. Sometimes the conversation gets exciting, other times it just flows along.

It’s also like a successful marketing campaign, where all the moving parts have to complement each other and work together in order to achieve the goal. To create a superb  product with integrity and passion, and that satisfies the audience.
After all, isn’t that what success is all about?
